In 2020, Tennessee passed a law that allows for individuals to take an online class for their course requirement for their concealed carry permit.

Tier One has put together an easy-to-follow course curriculum and exam. Our state certified curriculum will take you through the requisite laws, guidelines and recommendations of the State of Tennessee that you will need to be aware of to responsibly own and operate a firearm. Our course also offers a state certified exam with certificate that you may present to the certifying state authority.

The new law HAS NOT changed reciprocity with other states.

Constitutional Carry:

Tennessee is contemplating instituting Constitutional Carry. This means that an individual (of proper age) is allowed to legally carry a firearm within the borders of the State of Tennessee (unless prohibited by circumstance or notice) without a permit. However, Constitutional Carry does NOT allow you to carry in another State. You will still need a permit to do that.

Regarding permitless carry, also known as, no permit or Constitutional Carry ... it is important to know that this ONLY applies in the State of Tennessee. Permitless carry has restrictions for those who choose to carry in this manner. It is your responsibility to know the laws.

• How long do I have to take the course and get my certificate?
  You will have Four (4) Months to take the course, pass the exam and get your certificate. After Four (4) Months, your access to the course and certificate will expire.
  
  
• What type of permit does this course offer?
  Tier One Tactics offers the Concealed Handgun Carry Permit (Effective 01/01/2020).
  Please be mindful of the permit you wish obtain and what is the proper procedure for obtaining it.
  Online courses can provide the Concealed Handgun Carry Permit, but not an Enhanced Carry Permit.

• Does the concealed carry permit I receive from Tier One Tactics also count as an Enhanced Carry Permit?
  No. Currently, no online course can provide an Enhanced Carry Permit. That must be done in person.
  
  
• Is this is a subscription or will there be any recurring charges?
  NO. This is NOT a subscription. This is a ONE time payment. There are NO recurring charges for this course.
  
  
• Do I need to bring my Tennessee Drivers License to the DMV to get my concealed carry permit?
  YES. Please bring your Tennessee Drivers License to the the DMV.

Length: ~90 minutes (not including the exam).

Printable or downloadable state certified certificate after you have completed the course and exam, which you may present to the certifying state authority.

You do not have to the complete the course in one viewing session. You will be able to view and review at your leisure. You will have the ability to pause a training video and walk away for a certain amount of time, if needed. For example, if you are watching a 5 minute video, you will have 60 minutes to complete watching it once it has begun.
